Club Policies : Coaches Charter

THE COACHES’ CHARTER

 

1.   The Coach or Coaches must respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and treat everyone equally within the context of the sport.

2.   The Coach or Coaches must place the well-being and safety of each player above all other considerations, including the development of performance.

3.   The Coach or Coaches must develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.

4.   The Coach or Coaches must not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward.

5.   The Coach or Coaches must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.

6.    The Coach or Coaches must ensure that the activities they direct or advocate are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of players.

7.   The Coach or Coaches should, at the outset, clarify with the player (and, where appropriate, their parents) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect from their coach.

8.   The Coach or Coaches must co-operate fully with other specialists in the best interest of the player.

9.    The Coach or Coaches must always promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play) and never condone violations of the Laws of the Game or the use of prohibited substances and techniques.

10.  The Coach or Coaches must consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance.

11.  The Coach or Coaches must ensure that his overall priority is to make learning fun and that children are progressed to their maximum potential in both individual and team skills.

12. The Coach or Coaches must at all times refrain from Smoking/Using bad language/or any other form of unsuitable behavour in front of children or adults or officials or guests from other clubs while at training or games or while representing Clyde Soccer Glasgow.

 

Breaches of this Code of Conduct may be referred, in writing, to the Committee for adjudication.  Where such breaches are proven and are found to bring the Club into disrepute, the Club may take action against the offender in the form of suspensions, touchline bans or dismissal from service.
